Reviews by Groton-Dunstable students:

I read The Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs by Betty G. Birney.  It's about a boy named Eben who made a deal with his father that if he found Seven Wonders in Sassafras Springs, he could go on a train ride to Colorado. This book sends Eben finding lifesaving dolls and tables that walk the graveyard.  This is a charming book.

HB, Grade 4

I thought this was an amazing book.  It’s about a boy named Eben, who doesn’t do anything but read a book called the Seven Wonders of the World. His dad challenged him to find seven wonders in his town and if he could then he could take a train to see his cousins who he had never met before. Now he is walking through his home town (Sassafras Springs) determined to find seven wonders of his own.    This book is sometimes confusing, exciting and leaves you with questions but they’re always answered at the end.  I recommend this book to all third and fourth graders.
