My head is still spinning from the fabulous retirement party given in my honor on April 11th. It was a night of laughter, tears, smiles, and affection. From the speeches, the presentations, the skits, and the songs to the slide show, it was a night that will be long remembered. Thanks to all for the memories that will last a lifetime.
With thoughts of retirement comes the reality that Prescott School will be closing this June. You should have received your letter identifying which school your child will be attending next year. If not, please let me know ASAP. The teachers began the arduous task of grouping children into balanced sub groups for each elementary school and will continue this task on the half day May 6th. Please realize that many factors go into placement and we work very hard at creating balanced groups. We have a great staff and your child will be in good hands next year, no matter which class/school he or she is assigned.
A “transition team” met on April 15th and brainstormed activities/strategies to make the transition of students and families to their new school as smooth as possible. There were some great ideas generated and the Administrative Team will review them and let parents know what activities will take place between now and June 20th.
TIED TO THE TRACKS will be performed Friday evening, May 2nd @ 7 PM and again on Saturday, May 3rd @ 4 PM. Special thanks to Lisa Mitchell and Cindy Martel for their hard work in bringing this production to the stage. Be sure to save the date – you won’t regret it!
MCAS - Final MCAS testing will be on:
Grade 3 Math - May 12 - 14
Grade 4 Math - May 14 - 16
Please make sure your child is here for testing on the assigned dates. Lastly, the Prescott students and staff would like to honor all who have volunteered in any way this past year. Save the morning of June 4th to join us for a final celebration of thanks for all you do for the children and staff of Prescott.
