Nurses Office
Mrs. Enright and Mrs. DeRouin - School Nurses
The Nurses are at Prescott each day from 9 am to 3 pm. If your child has any health concerns and is involved with an afterschool program, please speak with the staff member in charge of that program.
ATTENTION ALL PARENTS: If your child has an injury requiring a splint, sling, cast, crutches or any activity restrictions, please send a note to the nurse’s office on the day they return to school. Please explain the injury, length of time expected in a splint/cast etc, pain management if needed, and any activity restrictions required for recess or PE. This information helps us plan care for your child while they’re at school. Thank you.
ATTENTION KINDERGARTEN, SECOND AND FOURTH GRADE PARENTS: A registered dental hygienist from the Nashoba Associated Boards of Health will be at our school soon to offer her services to our students in Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grades. A dental screening is done in the classroom for the Kindergarten students. The 2nd and 4th program consists of cleaning and polishing the teeth along with applying fluoride. A form was recently sent home with your child. If you have not done so already, please return it promptly to your child’s teacher. This form should be completed whether or not you wish for your child to participate in the program. If you did not receive the form, please contact the school nurse. The 1st graders will have the hygienist visit their classroom for a presentation.
ATTENTION THIRD GRADE PARENTS: All third grade students are required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to have a physical exam during this school year (July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008). If your child has had a physical exam any time after July1, 2007, please forward a copy of the exam to the nurse’s office. If your child has not had a physical exam yet this year, please schedule one and forward a copy of the exam to the nurse’s office. Please feel free to contact us if this creates a hardship or if you have any questions. We’ve received very few so far, so please give us a call or stop in if you’re unsure if we have it. Thanks!
ATTENTION ALL PARENTS: The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has mandated that all children in grades K-8 have annual height and weight measurements documented in their school medical record. We will be screening students’ height and weight in the coming months. If your child has had a physical exam any time after July 1, 2007, it would be helpful to have a copy of the exam. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
