Electronic Games, Toys, and Cards at School

We recognize that some children have long bus rides and that Game Boys and other electronic games, cards, or toys can help children get through those long rides a little more easily. However, while toys from home are not banned at school, we strongly discourage their use for the following reasons:

• toys can be lost or damaged and the school cannot be liable for lost or damaged items

• recess is an important opportunity for exercise and social interaction between students

Cards are allowed at school for use in card games or to share as collections, but NOT for trading.

Classroom teachers are responsible for telling students what is allowed for use and display within their individual classrooms in order to maintain a productive learning environment.

We hope this information is helpful to you and we appreciate your understanding and support.
