Regarding the Trees: A Splintered Saga Rooted in Secrets

by Kate Klise

In this story told primarily through letters, Principal Russ wants the middle school trees to be trimmed before his administrative evaluation, but the project is interrupted by a town gender war, dueling chefs, student tree protests, and a surprise wedding.

Reviews by Groton-Dunstable students:

I really liked this book. I thought it was cool how the book has many different stories weaved into one story. I also liked how the book wasn't written in the usual story format. There were bits of the town's newspaper, lots of letters, emails, drawings, and homework assignments in the book. This book is crazy and fun - girls boycotting boys, and a "wedding" instead of a "weeding." I really enjoyed reading this book and I recommend it to third and fourth graders.
