Reviews by Groton-Dunstable students:

I think the book The Mysterious Benedict Society is a great book for people who like adventure.  I like how it all starts with a peculiar newspaper ad that advertises, “If you want excitement in your life come take a test.” The winners of the test were four orphaned children.  Their prize was to complete a secret mission and stay in the Benedict Society home.  One thing that helped these children is that they were prepared for the unexpected and that is what they found in the Benedict Society home, the unexpected.  I think Trenton Lee Stewart is a wonderful writer who uses a lot of detail to make the reader understand what is happening in the story.  I would recommend this book for fourth graders and as a read aloud for third graders.

Review by L.P.

When four of the smartest, most clever, most interesting, and strangest kids get together and create a society, something amazing is probably going to happen. Reynie, Sticky, Kate and Constance have a crazy adventure together - being spies, detectives, and geniuses all the way!!
